-driving fast through a big city at night-

This last week went by so fast.

Portland-Salem-Kirkland-Seattle. These are the 4 places I was last week. I tagged along with the Bethel School of Discipleship (BSSD) mission trip in Portland and fell in love with the city. We drove from Arcata on the 7th to Portland and I stayed till the Saturday Market. Also, on Friday evening we were in Salem at the International House of Prayer/Shine cafe. Then my friend from Kirkland, WA came to Portland where we hung out before driving back to Washington. I hung out there till Monday morning, when I took a bus back to Portland to ride back to Humboldt with the BSSD group.

SOME THINGS I LEARNED LAST WEEK IN THE PACIFIC NORTH WEST:

{written on the bus from Seattle to Portland}

• the cello is my favorite instrument, besides the drums
• I can make any place my home
• don’t filter something you are burning to say, especially if you really mean it
• traveling light with clothes, and heavy with art= the best. (there are cheap clothing stores everywhere)
• if you are offended..don’t be
• don’t dread anything, be pre-thankful for the exciting thing that’s bound to happen sometime in the near future
• God is so happy for me
• I don’t like to leave waterfalls
• I can’t concentrate while in a book store (thanks Powells and your immense collection of Jack Kerouac)

some favorite photos & memories from the trip–I think this trip was a lot about enjoying the great outdoors, creating music and art, community, and spontaneity.
